Glasgow Philharmonic Male Voice Choir

GPMVC is a Male Voice Choir with about 40 active Choristers, with Principal Conductor William Barr and Accompanist Silviya Mihaylova. Choir is based in Glasgow, as the name suggests, but members are from all parts of West and Central Scotland. The Glasgow Philharmonic Choir was formed from the Partick Male Voice Choir in 1925.

Silviya Mihaylova has the honour to be one of RCS' alumni as well as current guest lecturer.


Nikola has already earned himself a reputation as a talented and virtuoso musician and his skills as a flute player have taken him around the world. He is currently doing his Master of Music degree with Myriam Graulus in the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, Belgium.

Silviya Mihaylova is a member of the organization since 2008.


Professor Fali Pavri is the Acting Head of Keyboard and Collaborative Piano at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

He enjoys a busy and varied career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. Born in Mumbai, India, where his first teacher was Shanti Seldon, he studied the piano at the Moscow Conservatoire with Professor Victor Merzhanov and at the Royal Academy of Music, London with Christopher Elton.

'Dobrin Petkov' is one of the National Music Schools in Bulgaria where children can study from Primary all the way to High school.

Silviya graduated 'Dobrin Petkov' in Year 2007.

J. Simon van der Walt is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and teacher, living and working in Scotland. His music draws on many styles and approaches, including score-based composition, installation, sound art, performance, devising and improvising. He teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he also responsible for coordinating the MMus programme.



Julian Wagstaff is a composer of classical music, opera and music theatre. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland (UK) where he is also active as a writer, arranger and guitarist (rock / musical theatre).


Originally from Nikolaev Southern Ukraine, Oksana now lives in Glasgow, Scotland.
She is a lyric soprano with coloratura, which gives an easiness and brightness to her voice allowing a varied repertoire.
